love difference: art and soccer for world peace
During the event organized by Atelier Italiano and Exibart in connection with the 54th Biennale of Art in Venice, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Love Difference presented an unprecedented performance in which art joined sport to celebrate the fascinating complexity of the different cultures that surround the Mediterranean Sea.
The event brought together the Roma football club stars, who wore the jerseys specially designed by Pistoletto for the opening game of the championship at the Olympic Stadium in the capital.
Love Difference is an artistic movement for a InterMediterranean Policy created in 2002 on the initiative of Cittadellarte - Pistoletto Foundation with the aim of creating a network of cooperation, fuelled by art to promote a culture that celebrates differences and promotes coexistence between the manifold cultures of the Mediterranean countries. In 2008, Love Difference gave birth to the Mediterranean Cultural Parliament.
The Exibart Party evening continued with cocktails and a concert by the Paolo Saporiti Duet.
The entire proceeds were donated in support of the Love Difference intercultural projects.
